Dawson seems to be finding life away from the Creek tough! Rock and Roll!! James Van Der Beek is a God! "The Rules of Attraction" is a disturbing, eye opening, witty, sick little film.....and I loved every minute of it. Too often films touch on issues only to get cold feet and back away. This film however goes for the jugular. Filled with characters that you admire, identify with and ultimately hate, this is "American Pie" with teeth. James Van Der Beek swears, scowls and fucks his way through the movie, proving that there is much more too him than the flowery heart to heart chats of Dawson's Creek. Roger Avary shows that working with
Quentin Tarantino has rubbed off on him, by messing with time and perspectives
within the film. This film also points out something that I have long believed in....dark haired people are lovely....blonde people are nasty!! "Since when does fucking someone else mean I'm not faithful to you?" -- Sean Bateman |
