One hundred years after the founding fathers of a small island doomed the leper stricken members of their town to death, a mysterious fog begins to roll in and it seems revenge is on the cards. This is a loose remake of the 1980 John Carpenter classic, which wasn't a huge box office success but has since garnered cult status. I doubt this will be so fondly remembered. Tom Welling couldn't have looked less like someone who knows about boats, if he'd drawn an anchor on his forearm in biro and insisted on wearing one of those little sailor hats that Donald Duck has. Everyone in this film is horribly miscast, leading to little or no chemistry between the characters. Selma Blair looked bored, probably making a mental note to read the scripts she is sent a little more carefully. They even have a token black guy who has some of the worst lines I have heard in a move in quite a while. Amazingly the worse thing about this film is the end. Normally watching something like this I would be praying for the pain to end. However, the conclusion of this film left me feeling like I'd been slapped about the head with a hedgehog; bemused, upset, angry and none the wiser as to what was going on. Its got some fog in, but then again if you make a movie with a sledge in it, it doesn't mean you've made Citizen Kane. Your time would be better spent doing something else, like sitting very still, rather than watching this foggy mess.
