Cry Wolf

Jeff Wadlow 2005

Newcomer at school Owen (lovely brit boy Julian Morris) strikes up a friendship with a group of bored rich kids who spend their time playing games of deceit. They circulate a rumour about a killer on campus, but soon the line between fiction and reality blurs and one by one they realise no one believes you when you cry wolf.

Cry Wolf rises slightly above the usual standard teen slasher fare. It's inventive, atmospheric and shows touches of flair throughout. As always, the actors playing the teens are probably all pushing 30. Are there no teenage actors/actresses available for these films?

Jon Bon Jovi is actually quite good as a teacher, and just to prove he’s a teacher he wears glasses, the universal symbol for intelligence and authority. Only in America can you get teachers that look like rock stars.

A nice twist at the end and all in all it’s a good effort, better than a lot of horror films around at the moment.
